Watermelon Game — drop, merge, and grow the watermelon

The Watermelon Game is a single-player physics puzzle. You drop fruit into a bin, and when two identical fruits touch they merge into the next fruit up a chain that runs from cherry to watermelon. Each merge scores points. The run ends when the pile of fruit overflows the top of the bin. The format was popularised by Suika Game in 2023 and is sometimes called "watermelon drop" or a fruit-merge game.

Move your pointer across the top of the bin to aim, then click, tap, or press the drop key to release the current fruit. It falls and rolls with real physics. Land it next to a matching fruit and the pair merges into a bigger one, adding to your score. Keep the pile below the dashed danger line near the top and try to build the largest fruit you can.

Eleven, from smallest to largest: cherry, strawberry, grape, dekopon, orange, apple, pear, peach, pineapple, melon, and watermelon. Only the first five can appear as a drop; every fruit above orange has to be built by merging.

You score for the fruit a merge creates, not the fruits it removes. Small merges are worth a point or two; merging into a melon or watermelon is worth much more. Because the big merges only happen late in a tidy bin, a long, careful run scores far higher than a fast, messy one.

A dashed line near the top of the bin. Fruit can pass through it briefly while falling, but if a fruit settles with any part above the line and stays there for about two seconds, the run ends. The score panel glows amber and then red as you get close to that limit.

Build a staircase: keep your biggest fruit in one bottom corner and let the sizes step down toward the opposite side. Merge small fruit as soon as you can so the surface stays clear, use the next-fruit preview to plan two drops ahead, and drop into gaps rather than onto peaks. Reaching the watermelon usually takes a full, disciplined run rather than a lucky drop.

You get a banner and a large score bonus, and you can keep playing on the same bin. The watermelon takes up a lot of room, but it also means a big block of the chain is finished. If you somehow make two watermelons and merge them, both pop and clear that space entirely.

Your best score, the best fruit you have reached, the number of runs you have played, and how many watermelons you have made are saved locally in your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and there is no account. Because the save lives on the device, a different phone, a new browser profile, or cleared site data will look like a fresh start.
